Oasis Academy Mayfield currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Internal Exclusions Coordinator, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.
Job overview
The Internal Exclusion coordinator is responsible for the daily running of the Internal Exclusion (IE) Unit, providing a calm and structured environment for students temporarily removed from lessons due to behaviour concerns. The role involves supporting students to reflect on their actions, maintain access to learning, and prepare for reintegration into lessons. You’ll track and monitor students’ day and intervene as required to ensure they are as successful as possible, including the use of behaviour management techniques.
By offering a purposeful and supportive alternative to fixed-term exclusion, the postholder plays a key role in promoting positive behaviour and reducing disruption to teaching and learning across the academy.
Job requirements
• A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
• Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
• Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
• Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
